Snowed In !

It is very cold and windy here today. So windy that I cannot even build a fire, because the winds are blowing straight across. I am hoping that it lets up a little at least by the afternoon. I guess I will just have to keep the house warm with my baking. I have already made two dozen oowy gooey butter cookies for the party tonight. And I plan on making and decorating sugar cookies. I was hoping to finish up my shopping today, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.
And I have a doctors appointment at 3, but Jason said he would come home to drive me ! I told him that he did not have to do this, but he reminded me that On-star does not do snowbank rescue's !
Stay warm friends, and stay tuned for my new and updated pics of the sweater party tonight.....

Ugly Sweater Party...

Our neighbors host an Ugly Sweater Party every year, ( okay so twice, but isn't this enough to be considered an annual event) and it is fast approaching. I don't think that I am going to get another sweater, but I may add different accessories, just something different to change it up.

So here is last years take on the Ugly Sweater event...

Post 2 entries and call me in the morning !

I found this article in Self magazine that describes the ways that blogging is good for your health.

1). Sound Slumber- blogging about your feelings can bring on relaxation thus increasing your ability to get a good nites rest.

2). Improved Immunity-expressive writing encourages the growth of white blood cell production ( these are the guys that fight off infection)

3). A Hardy Heart- writing about emotional topics lowers your blood pressure and heart rate, keeping your ticker in shape !

Self has their own blog site, and this article was encouraging you to set up a profile using their system. But it applies here also !

This is all good news, since I have plenty of time to blog- as we are pretty much snowed in.
I will try to post pics later today of the snow !

Mini......

Cheesecakes ! Who does not love these.... Lets see there are cherry, blueberry and little chocolate ones for those with an extra sweet tooth !

I made these for a get together last week, and they were a hit. So easy and simple too ! Just your typical cheesecake recipe, with a nila wafer for the crust. Yummy....

Melting Pot

I have heard many great things about the Melting pot and finally had the opportunity to share this experience with some really great friends. Just a tip- you get tons of food. We actually split a four course meal for two between the four of us and it was plenty. Also quit the variety for those who do not like red meat or seafood. I personally do not eat pork so I switched out my piece of pork for another piece of salmon.

I wish I would have taken a pic of the dessert tray b/c this was the best part. We chose a traditional pot of chocolate and peanut butter mix with rice krispies, cheesecake, brownies and fruit- All for dipping.

I really recommend this place if not for the food- the experience alone.

Blog slacking

No-really I am not ! I have many updates, and uploads that I would like to add, however my computer is not cooperating. My drive is full, and I am not able to upload any more pictures. I hope to purchase a second hard drive or find another solution to this problem. Even cleaning the drive has not helped, it is just too full !
Thanks for understanding ; }

A Halloween Haunting

Halloween for me is always boring because we do not get any trick or treaters. Mostly this is caused by the layout of our neighborhood, the homes are spread out and we are on a no outlet road. I spent Halloween night at the movies, watching Saw V. This movie was just like all of the previous one's so I doubt I will go see six..... Yes, there will be a six !

Anyway here are a few pics from the Halloween party that we went to. We only had two days notice, so I was in a panic. I went to Halloween USA where every ladies costume was either a short mini skirt or revealing in some other manner. If I wanted to be a hooker this is a great place to purchase a costume !

I ran to Target for a few odds and ends and I saw this dress that reminded me of a scarecrow. A lady scarecrow obviously because how many scarecrows have you seen wearing dresses???

It took me forever to glue the straw on and it was terribly itchy ! I purchased jean looking leggins and painted my face, also attached a black bird to my hair( I did dye the bird- he was white). So I guess my costume was scary scarecrow. It was fun and overall I was happy how my costume turned out, especially given the time crunch !

As promised....

Here is a video from the concert on Saturday night. It may be a little difficult to hear due to all of the screaming in the back ground. I have some more pics, but will post another time, I have just been too busy.

Anyway here is the song that made them famous 17 years ago...

I'll be loving you forever.

And I have to add this side note-

When I was 10 years old I was in love with Jordan , I mean I was going to marry him dont'cha know ! But I have to say.... I think I pick Donnie now... must be the muscles !

[I give up on adding the video, I have tried now on two occassions and it is just taking to long. It has to up load, and then process..( whatever that means) I may play around with it somemore. Sorry ]

Okay so I have these tickets..... What would you do ?
( I couldn't get the pics to turn out any better)
Really there is no real choice to even be considered because I am going to see NKOTB..This has been a dream of mine since the 5th grade ! And besides... Michigan / Michigan State will play again next year. And I can go then - it will be same tailgating, smack talkin' event that it is each and every year...... Right ?

Cleaning.....

Okay, so this is going to be short and sweet because I have to get busy cleaning. I am off today( from work) and will be spending my whole day getting ready for our first showing... Yeah I am so excited. The house has been for sale by owner for about 18 months. Since we had no luck- it was best to go ahead and list. This will be our first showing with a realtor. There was a long list of items that needed to be completed before this first appointment and most are not finished. The main point of concern is the kitchen. The red ( in photos below) was supposed to be changed to a pottery barn blue. Well this did not happen, and it is not happening. I have decided against this color change. There is just too much work in painting.

Rememberance Day Pictures, Images and Photos

October 15th is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in the United States. Each year, over half a million dreams are shattered. Out of 3.3 million born alive, some 30,000 die during the first 28 days. Another 39,000 babies are still born. Miscarriage occurs in fifteen to twenty percent of pregnancies, while ectopic pregnancy occurs in one percent.More than 25,000 children are stillborn in the United States every year leaving mothers, entire families and communities devastated. Estimates of the rate of occurrence of stillbirth make it at least as common as autismStillbirth is not an intractable problem. Greater research would likely significantly reduce its incidence, but good research requires good data. H.R. 5979: Stillbirth Awareness and Research Act is under consideration by Congress. This proposed bill would standardize stillbirth investigation and diagnosis, thus providing more data for the needed research. Better research means fewer children born still. On October 15th, remember the thousands of unfinished children lost and the families who remain to grieve them. Honor them by taking action. Let's help pass H.R. 5979.

An angel wrote in the book of life
my baby's date of birth
Then whispered as she closed the book,
Too beautiful for earth.

FALL, a time for change

What will you change ?

I am getting a BLOG !!

This is my change. I figure instead of spending all of my time and energy blog stalking others, I will use this time and energy to create my own. Although I don't think this will keep me from checking out my favorite blogs for updates.
